Strong effective bow . Snaps together simply at 2 pieces with up to 50 pound draw weight. More beautiful in person than I expected : I got otter fur silencers for the bow string and it looks even better. Snappy fast shooting strong effective bow .

This is not a Qing/Manchu bow. It doesn't look nor behave like a Manchu bow; however it does look and behave like a Tatar bow.

The takedown mechanisms are identical between Heseri and AF Takedown Tatar with integral bridge. In fact the limbs are interchangeable. AF Takedown is $269 and Black Tatar (Glossy) is $129. From a price perspective Heseri and Black Tatar are a better match. In fact the two share the same finish, identical siyah and limb shape. The only difference between the two, is Heseri's limbs are a little longer. Heseri does have wooden string bridges vs. plastic string bridges on Black Tatar. Heseri also has leather wrap on the grip vs. shrink tube on Black Tatar.

Arrow path is a weak point of Heseri. I think there is a piece of leather on the arrow path, but whatever it is, it's not going to stand the test of use. The pictures are of the arrow path without any shot and after twenty shots. It's going to have to be replaced soon. However, it is an easy enough DIY job.

This bow's draw length is measured from the belly of the bow. The draw cycle is very nice and smooth up to 30". After 30" it starts to stack like my other Tatar bows, as shown in the table above.

I took the first ten shots with a 435g arrow drawing to 28", at 29#, the arrow came to 15g GPP. After that I took another ten shots with a 484g arrow drawing to 30", at 32#, the arrow also came to 15g GPP. There is no hand shock to speak of, the takedown mechanism absorbed all of the force. There is vibration in the handle that lingered long after the limbs have stopped, it's like holding onto a tuning fork. In the next few days I shot a 620g arrow eighty times at 30" draw. The excessive vibration of the handle gradually diminished. Now I can shoot arrows at 15g GPP without excessive vibration. This bow needs a little more time to break-in.

The string that came with the bow is not a good match. I don't think it's a fast flight string. For comparison, I shot the same arrow, at the same draw length, at the same distance to the same target, using Heseri and Black Tatar. Heseri is 32# and Black Tatar is 27# at 30". Even with extra 5# of draw weight, Heseri hit 6ins low. One can visually observe the arrow shot out of Heseri fly slower. There isn't anything wrong with the quality of the string. The string just doesn't enhance one's shooting experience.

Great little bow

I got this for my 15 year old daughter in 30lb. Tested 30 @ 27” Perfect. The bow looks great, shoots smooth and consistent. Very light and fast limbs. The shelf is radiused and close to center cut. I added some synthetic hair to the shelf and everything has been great. When I ordered, the website did not indicate whether it came with a string so I ordered a custom string. Turns out that a string was included, now we have a backup. Overall great little bow, great price.

Great shooting bow

I received this bow 30# recurve Black Hunter from Huntingdoor.com this evening and it was more than I expected. I got it for my 11 year old grandson to shoot. The only change I made on the bow while putting it together was I put an upgraded D97 flemish twist string on it. The bow shoots great. He is shooting 800 spine carbon arrows cut to 29" with 125 gr. points. I am shooting 700 spine carbon arrows cut to 29" with 145 gr. points. This $100 bow shoots great and feels great. I have a number of high end custom bows that I shoot, but this Top Archery recurve shoots every bit as good as they do. Granted, the high end bows have a better fit and finish, but do NOT shoot any better. I truley think that anyone thinking about getting into traditional archery, or anyone just wanting a different bow weight to shoot couldn't do any better than these Top Archery recurves. It is hard to believe that the arrows I shoot cost more per dozen than these bows cost.
